First,the teacher shows the pictures and get students to speak about them.
Then, he asks them to describe the title:Why "I am sorry "doesn't always translate.
After that,he will show the first paragraph on the slide and ask two students to read out.
Next,he will divide the students into 8 groups and assign them one paragraph to each group and instruct them to explain the assigned paragraph.
Finally,the teacher will read out the whole text with correct pronunciation and explain it in simple words so that everyone can comprehend the the whole text.
Evaluation
The teacher will ask two students, one from the boys and the other from the girls to read out the first and last paragraphs. Then the students are asked to do the following.
What is the problem with Americans and Japanese?
How do Americans perceive an apology?
Who apologized more: Japanese or Americans?
Homework:
The students are assigned to do the exercises below the text.
